TSE 1000 & 2000

Thermal Shock Eliminator Additive

TSE products were designed to be mixed in a marble dust filler in as low as 5% levels. It is important to get as consistent a mix as possible, for this reason we recommend that the additive be either premixed in the marble dust or added in increments intermittently with the marble dust to the resin.

The specific density difference of TSE means it demands a higher resin content per pound of filler. The matrix should be made by reducing the marble dust in your original mix by 20% of its weight, and then adding TSE at a level equal to 4.5% of the marble dust weight called for in your original formula. This matrix should be adjusted with either resin or marble dust to the working viscosity you desire.

TSE is a white material and should have only a small effect on your color, geltime, and processing. The peak exotherm of your part will be a few degrees hotter, depending on thickness. This will help to make the cure move closer to completion.

The two grades of TSE have very similar properties, but are created in different locations for your most economical version.

  • Try TSE 1000 if you are located closer to Michigan.
  • Try TSE 2000 if you are located closer to California.
