Thermolite Series

Light Weight Filler System

Thermolite products are used to lower the weight in cultured marble/cast polymer products compared to conventional fillers.  These low cost Thermolite products are white and low in off color contamination.  Each product can be used as a total or partial replacement of your calcium carbonate.  Whether you are looking for thermal shock resistance, weight reduction or reducing off color contaminants, the Thermolite Series will improve products.

Thermolite 33 is designed to be used in a standard casting resin at about a 62% loading level. Adjustments may be needed to the resin/filler ratio to adjust matrix viscosity. Products made with Thermolite 33 will achieve a 33% weight savings as compared to products made with a standard marble formulation. This product contributes to excellent thermal shock resistance. The low off color contamination and white color make this an ideal filler for those who do not need the ultimate in weight reduction.

Thermolite 33 FG is the same as THM 33 except for an additive to enhance its properties. This product provides greater strength and resistance to cracking. Independent test evaluations have demonstrated superior results with stress crack resistance.

Thermolite 48 is also designed for use in a standard casting using approximately 50% resin by weight. Adjustments in the resin/filler ratio may be necessary to achieve desired viscosity. Products made with Thermolite 48 will have the best thermal shock resistance while achieving a 50% weight savings over a standard marble matrix. The very low off color contaminants with its white color make this an excellent choice for total replacement of calcium carbonate.

Thermolite 48 FG is the same as THM 48 except for an additive to enhance its properties. This product provides greater strength and resistance to cracking.

Thermolite 205 Thermolite filler products were developed to lower the weight of cultured marble/cast polymer products. When used as a filler replacement for conventional fillers it can reduce the weight by 50%.  It's use is particularly effective for cast bathtubs, shower pans and other heavy sections. Thermolite 205 also contains a flame retardant additive and will pass the ANSI standard for flame and smoke in cast polymer applications. Thermolite 205 can also be used blended with conventional filler products to vary the amount of light weightness.  In addition to lowering weight, Thermolite 205 will also significantly improve flex properties and thermal shock properties.
